The day
How does the day work?
Pool training comes first, followed by an ocean dive with your instructor.
- 1
Meet at Playa Blanca
You join SeaPro at Playa Blanca after hotel pickup or your own journey. The dive center is between Club Med and the Westin.
- 2
Pool lesson
Your instructor introduces the basics in a pool before the ocean dive. It's a practice session for your first time using scuba gear.
- 3
Guided ocean dive
The ocean dive follows your pool training. An instructor guides you underwater before the return to Playa Blanca.
The full session takes 3.5 hours, including the lesson. It doesn't mean 3.5 hours underwater. You return to Playa Blanca before the transfer to your hotel if pickup is arranged.
Pickup and meeting point
- Hotel pickup: Selected Punta Cana hotels have pickup 60 minutes before the start. Your hotel must be among the available pickup points.
- Drive to SeaPro: Check with SeaPro before arriving in your own vehicle. The meeting point is on Playa Blanca between Club Med and the Westin.
Before you book
- PADI registration isn't in the price. Check the extra charge before paying.
Fit
Is this tour right for you?
SeaPro's trial suits you if you're curious about scuba and can spare 3.5 hours. There's a pool lesson before you enter the ocean. The group is limited to 8 divers. You need moderate fitness and don't leave with an Open Water qualification.
SeaPro's Open Water course leads to certification after you complete training, from $560 per person. Happy Fish's snorkeling cruise suits you if you'd prefer to stay at the surface, from $89 per adult.
Who it's not for
- Travelers seeking a full scuba qualification in this session
- Travelers who don't have moderate physical fitness
- Children under 10
Good to know
Know before you go
The booking page accepts ages 12 to 70, with up to 8 people per reservation. An adult must be included. SeaPro's minimum diving age is 10, so younger children need direct arrangements before booking this option.
Every diver completes SeaPro's medical form before entering the water. A yes answer requires written clearance signed by a doctor. That clearance must have been issued within 12 months of your scheduled dive.
You'll need moderate physical fitness for the pool lesson and ocean dive. This session isn't recommended during pregnancy or for travelers with spinal injuries. Poor heart health is also a restriction.
Bring a swimsuit and towel for pool practice and the ocean. Equipment rental is part of your session. Your ticket is mobile, so keep it available on your phone when you arrive at SeaPro.
SeaPro contacts you before departure if weather prevents the trip from going out. You can move to another available date or time. That change still needs to leave enough time before your flight.
This booking allows a full refund when you cancel at least 24 hours before departure. Cancellations inside that window aren't refundable. The deadline applies to the scheduled session, even though your hotel transfer starts earlier.

People also ask
- How soon can you fly after SeaPro's first scuba dive?
Leave at least 18 hours between finishing the dive and your flight. The gap starts when diving ends, rather than at hotel pickup. Plan this session around your departure flight before choosing a day, including room for any weather change.
- How much does SeaPro's first time scuba experience cost?
The experience costs from $199 per person, with equipment and instruction included. PADI registration is an extra $5 paid to your instructor on site. Gratuities are separate too. Your booking covers pool training followed by a guided ocean dive.
- Do beginners need certification for SeaPro's Playa Blanca dive?
No certification is needed for this 3.5-hour introduction. You learn the basics in a pool before the instructor takes you into the ocean. It's a chance to try scuba, and completing it doesn't give you an Open Water certification.
- Where do guests meet SeaPro for the first scuba dive?
Your meeting point is Playa Blanca between Club Med and the Westin. Hotel transfers begin 60 minutes before the session at selected pickup points. If you drive yourself, SeaPro needs advance notice. You return to that same beach after diving.
- Can children aged 10 join SeaPro's first scuba experience?
Age 10 meets SeaPro's minimum, though this booking option only accepts ages 12 to 70. Children aged 10 or 11 need arrangements directly with SeaPro before payment. You shouldn't select an older age band just to complete the booking.
